The technology for high-productivity agriculture is the focus of the Impulso&Crece event in Almería.

The digital transformation and technological innovation in high-productivity agriculture were the central themes of the Impulso&Crece event, which took place on March 6 at the Almería Science and Technology Park (PITA). This event, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mines of the Regional Government of Andalusia, brought together agro-tech sector experts to discuss artificial intelligence use cases and data spaces in agricultural production.

The program kicked off with an institutional inauguration by Guillermo Casquet, territorial delegate of the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mines of Almería, Alejandra Carreño, director of PITA, and Nuria García, communications director of INNOVA IRV. Following this, sector professionals shared their knowledge and experience on using technology to improve productivity and sustainability in the agri-food sector.

Among the speakers, Antonio Manuel Adrián, agro-food manager at TUPL, discussed the impact of computer vision on the industry. Edgar García, scientific researcher in the field of Plant Biotechnology at Beyond Seeds, presented ARK.IA, an innovative system to accelerate the development of new plant varieties.

José Luis Estrella, operations director at Hispatec, spoke about the importance of data in optimizing agricultural processes, while Paula Ruiz, director of R&D+i and Sustainability at TROPS, highlighted the keys to innovation in Agro-Food Tech. Ana Molina, CEO of Groditech, shared her insights on the technological evolution in the sector.

The event concluded with Carmen Ramírez, project manager at Innova IRV, who presented the Impulso&Crece program, an initiative aimed at promoting industrial digitalization in Andalusia.

This event is part of the Impulso&Crece project, driven by the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mines, which aims to advance industrial digitalization in Andalusia.

The project seeks to create a favorable environment for the development of industrial projects, improve productivity and value generation, develop competitive talent, and foster cooperation and innovation within the digital value chain. Additionally, the project aspires to contribute to positioning Andalusia as a leader in digital industry, promoting economic and social sustainability in the region.
